Best Bar None Glasgow Launches for 2019/20

The Best Bar None Glasgow initiative launched yesterday morning at the Grand Central Hotel to signal the beginning of the highly successful Best Bar None scheme in the city for 2019/20. The launch was facilitated by Glasgow City Council by Louise McMonagle and Lise Fisher. The well attended launch was attended by a number of external partners including Tennents Training Academy and Keep Scotland Beautiful and featured contributions by guest speakers – Councillor Richardson, Convenor for Sustainability and Carbon Reduction, Jack Gemmell, Chair of Best Bar None Scotland and Watch Manager Gary Wood Scottish Fire & Rescue Service/SBRC.

Last year Glasgow had a record breaking year of 98 premises participating of which 85 received a Gold award, 11 Silver and 2 Bronze with a number of venues progressing through to the National Awards and having further success there. The aim of the launch was to raise awareness of the initiative amongst the city’s licensed trade and encourage new venues to join and be part of the overwhelmingly successful scheme. It is hoped that more venues sign up to the scheme for this year demonstrate that their commitment to excellence within the licensed trade.

We wish all venues participating this coming year every success!
