PRESTOUNGRANGE GOTHENBURG PROVIDES BREAKFAST FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN DURING LOCKDOWN

The Prestoungrange Gothenburg, located in Prestonpans in East Lothian, has been supplying breakfast for vulnerable children and families during lockdown.

The recent Best Bar None Scotland Gold Award winner is currently providing breakfast packs once a week to 89 children and families in their local community.

Calum Wilson, from Prestoungrange Gothenburg, explains: “We started doing this as breakfast is such an important meal and unfortunately not all children will get breakfast, especially since the schools have closed.

“We started offering it to those children who were entitled to free school meals, but subsequently this has changed due to circumstances of some in our community. We now also provide breakfasts for families where both parents have lost their job due to Covid-19 as well as those who are most vulnerable.

“We have been greatly supported by our local community who have been right behind us, with donations of cereal, milk and fresh fruit coming most weeks.”
