Strathclyde Student Union, Health & Wellbeing Event - Naloxone Training

Police Scotland’s Business Crime Prevention Team act as leads for Best Bar None.  As such we cross many different roles and work with a wide range of partners.

we were at Strathclyde Students Union, an award winning Best Bar None venue.  We collaborated with Mariebeth Kilbride at Scottish Drugs Forum (www.sdf.org.uk) and Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol & Drugs (www.sfad.org.uk) to deliver Naloxone training at the Unions Health & Wellbeing event.

A large number of people attended at our stall to get more information, with 20 odd being trained in the use of Naloxone.  This is a brilliant example of effective and meaningful partnership working that directly contributes to the priority around reducing drug related deaths in Scotland.

It was very clear that people really care about this issue and want to play an active role in reducing such cases.  We had people from a broad range of backgrounds, people who now have the knowledge and ability to save a life.

Drug related deaths are avoidable, every death represents the tragic loss of a families loved one.

Police Scotland/Best Bar None are proud to be actively playing their part in reducing the misery of drug related deaths.
